Pea and Lima Bean Cleaning Equipment
A typical pea and lima cleaning line would include; screening and scalping, then air cleaning, followed by flotation cleaning and destoning. Mechanically harvested peas and limas can have EVM such as leaves and sticks, whole or fractured pods, stones and dirt. The combination of screening, air cleaning and washing is a necessity for a thoroughly clean product.
OLNEY Screening/Scalping Reel
The OLNEY Screening/Scalping Reel is designed for removing whole and fractured pods, leaves and sticks prior to air cleaning and washing. Product falls through the screen holes while the scalped trash, such as leaves and pod material, exit at the end of the cylinder.
With the removal of a good deal of this trash prior to your foam cleaning process, your washer will require less make-up water and put less BOD down the drain.
OLNEY DW Model Flotation/Destoning Washer
The OLNEY DW Model offers flotation cleaning, as well as two destoning stages for peas and limas. Light floating trash, such as leaves and skins and heavy sinking trash, such as stones and rocks are removed in one machine.
The DW Model is generally fed directly from the discharge of the initial air cleaner/stick and pod eliminator.
